Science Classification

Phylum (Class) of animals included in The Kingfisher First Animal Encyclopedia.
Discussing groupings is not necessary in 1st grade; however, if you plan to do it (which I do) study animals of same phylum and class together.

Mollusca: octopus, squid, slug, snail, shellfish

Annelida: earthworm

Echinodermata: Starfish, ray

Cnidaria: Jelly fish

Chordates (amphibia): frog and toad, newt, amphibian
