- Make a cave painting on brown paper bags (crumpled and flattened to represent cave walls).
- Make a prehistoric hunter's "game bag" from animal print material. (like Bahpa's!)
- Build your own hut
One a large (2x3') sheet of paper the kids designed their structure. They went to the wooded area behind our house and gathered sticks and bound them together with long grasses to make a sort of teepee. They filled in the walls with dried grasses.
I did not have my camera available the day we did it and didn't get around to taking pictures until 3 full days later ... following a horrendous rain storm. I couldn't believe how much of their dwelling lasted that long. They did a thorough job.
